My email isn't working

Email problems usually fall into one of three buckets. Pick the one that matches.

"I can't sign in"

  1. Try signing in to your email through a web browser first. Go to gmail.com, outlook.com, or your provider's website.
  2. If it works in the browser but not in your email app, your password probably changed and the app needs the new one.
  3. If it doesn't work in the browser either, you'll need to reset your password — see our password help article.

"Email isn't sending or receiving"

  1. Check your internet first — if no other websites work, fix that first. See wifi issues.
  2. Close the email app completely, then reopen it.
  3. Restart the computer or phone.
  4. Check that you're not in offline mode:
    • Outlook: Look at the bottom-right of the window. If it says "Working Offline", click it and uncheck "Work Offline".

"I'm getting weird emails / something looks suspicious"

Don't click anything inside the email. Don't open attachments. Don't reply. Don't call any phone numbers in the email.
  1. Take a screenshot of the suspicious email if you can.
  2. Send us a message with that screenshot using the button below.
  3. We'll tell you whether it's real or a scam, and what to do next.

"My mailbox is full"

  1. Empty your Deleted Items or Trash folder — usually those still count toward your storage.
  2. Empty your Junk folder too.
  3. If you use Gmail, also check the All Mail view — it adds up.

If you keep filling up, that's worth a conversation about a bigger plan or some cleanup. Send us a message.

Still stuck?

Email is one of those things that's easier to fix together. Send us a message describing what you're seeing and we'll walk you through it.
